Check Immunity against Rubella infection. If negative, plan Vaccination against Rubella.

Plan to be as close to the ideal body weight as possible

A diet containing less caffeine (not consuming too much tea, coffee, cola, etc)
Start folic acid supplementation 2-3 months before pregnancy and continue until the 12th week of pregnancy. - The lowest dose of folic acid is 0.4 mg once daily.
- Patients with an enzyme defect that affects folic acid metabolism (MTHFR), women with excessive weight and women with a previous history of Neural Tube Defect should receive a higher dose of folic acid.
